About Quick Checklist

A checklist app built on one stubborn idea: your notes should live on your device, not on someone else's server.

Why we built it

Most note apps ask for an account before they will let you write a single line. That account exists so your notes can be stored on a server, and once they are on a server they can be mined, leaked, or held behind a subscription you forgot you had.

Quick Checklist starts differently. Open it and start typing. There is no sign-up screen, no email confirmation, and no onboarding tour. Your notes are written straight into your browser's own storage, and they stay there.

That one constraint shaped everything else. The app works with no connection because it never needed one. It opens instantly because there is nothing to fetch. And the privacy promise is structural rather than a policy we could quietly change later.

What we optimise for

  • Local first, always

Notes are written to your browser's storage and read back from it. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to turn on sync, which is opt-in and paid.

  • Fast enough to trust

A checklist you use at the supermarket has to open before the queue moves. No loading spinners between you and your own list.

  • Honest about limits

Reminders only fire while the app is open on the free plan, and we say so in the app itself rather than burying it. We would rather under-promise than surprise you.

  • Free that stays free

The free tier is a real product, not a trial. Premium adds sync, more items and no ads. It does not unlock notes you already wrote.
