A free grocery list app that works in the shop
Supermarket wifi is terrible and mobile signal in a chest freezer aisle is worse. Quick Checklist opens offline, instantly, with no login screen between you and your list.
Start this checklistA grocery list has a very specific job: it must be readable one-handed, while pushing a trolley, in under a second. Most note apps fail that test because they try to sync before they render, and the aisle you are standing in has no signal.
Because Quick Checklist stores your list in the browser itself, the list is already there when the app opens. Tick items as they go in the trolley, and what is left is what you still need.
A checklist to start from
- Fruit and vegetables
- Bread and bakery
- Milk, cheese, eggs
- Meat or protein
- Rice, pasta, grains
- Frozen items
- Cleaning and household
- Toiletries
How to make it stick
- Order the list the way your shop is laid out, not alphabetically. You stop backtracking, which is where the time actually goes.
- Keep one master list and untick everything after each shop instead of writing a new one. Most weeks are ninety percent the same.
- Add quantities to the item text rather than in a note. Six eggs reads faster than eggs with a footnote.
Common questions
- Can I use it without signal in the supermarket?
- Yes. The list is stored in your own browser, so it loads with no connection at all. Ticking items offline works exactly the same as online.
- Can I share the list with my partner?
- Not directly. Notes stay on your device on the free plan. Premium syncs a list across your own devices, but Quick Checklist does not do multi-person collaboration.
- Can I reuse the same list every week?
- Yes, and that is the intended way to use it. Untick everything when you get home and the list is ready for next week.
