A free online to-do list that is ready before you are
Open it, type the first task, and you are done. No account, no project setup, no onboarding tour between you and the thing you need to remember.
Start this checklistA to-do list only works if writing a task down is quicker than deciding to remember it. Every screen in the way is a reason to keep the task in your head instead: a login, a workspace picker, a sync spinner. Your head is exactly where tasks get lost.
Quick Checklist opens straight to your list. It is stored in your own browser, so it loads instantly and works offline. Tick a task off and it gets out of the way: what is left is what still needs doing.
A checklist to start from
- Reply to the email you have been putting off
- Pay the bill due this week
- Book the dentist appointment
- Buy the birthday present
- Return the parcel
- Back up your phone
- Pick tomorrow's top three tasks
- Clear the kitchen sink
How to make it stick
- Write each task as the very next physical action. Call the dentist gets done; dentist sits on the list for a month.
- Keep today's list short enough to finish. Three tasks you complete beat ten you carry over, and carrying tasks over is what makes people give up on a list.
- Put reminders only on tasks with a real deadline. When everything nags, nothing does.
