A travel checklist app that works abroad without data
Roaming is expensive and airport wifi wants your email address. A checklist that lives on your phone needs neither.
Start this checklistTravel admin is a sequence with deadlines: passport validity months ahead, visas weeks ahead, check-in a day ahead. A flat to-do list loses that shape and you find out too late.
Group your travel checklist by when each item is due rather than by category, and it stops being a list of things and starts being a plan.
A checklist to start from
- Passport valid six months past return date
- Visa or travel authorisation applied for
- Flights booked and seats chosen
- Accommodation confirmed
- Travel insurance purchased
- Vaccinations checked
- Bank told about travel dates
- Airport transfer arranged
- Offline maps downloaded
- Boarding passes saved to phone
- Emergency contacts written down
- Home: post, plants, keys sorted
How to make it stick
- Put a date in the item text for anything with a deadline. Visa by 12 March beats visa.
- Download offline maps and your boarding passes before you leave home wifi, and tick both. They are the two things that fail at exactly the wrong moment.
- Keep a copy of your documents as a note in the app. It is stored on your own device rather than a cloud account you may not be able to reach.
Common questions
- Will it work without roaming data?
- Yes. Everything is stored locally, so the checklist opens and updates with no connection of any kind.
- Can I attach a photo of my passport?
- Yes, one image per note on the free plan and five on Premium. The image is stored in your browser, not uploaded to us.
- Can I set a reminder for a visa deadline?
- You can set a daily or weekly reminder. On the free plan it notifies you while the app is open, and the Reminders screen always shows what is due.
